They only have a fourth dimension, which resides in our mind and thoughts and it is this quaternary dimension that holds meaning, reason and logic behind the landscape. When we are undetermined to an external landscape, we subconsciously impute it. We create a place in our minds in which the landscape fits. For example, when we see our home we may experience feelings of belonging, elation and contentment. In contrast, some may feel isolated, distressed or troubled. con sequently our sense of our environment firmly relies on what we make it fall out to be. Similarly, our sight relies on physical environments we have encountered. When we imagine something, we mold on our former experiences with landscape. When we dream, we create scenes of imagery and emotion from foregone occurrences. Consequently, there are a number of parallels between our imagination and our actual perceptions of our surroundings. The gist of this is captured in Rachel Perkins One Night the Moon, a film (based on true events) about the disappearance of a young girlfriend Emily (Memphis Kelly) from her bedroom during the night. The setting of the film was the 1932 Flinders Ranges in the South Australian outback, which makes her disappearance all the more affectionateness wrenching. Perkins uses the character Emily to learn how a young childs innocent and naïve mind can perceive a harsh and devoid landscape in a coltish and harmless way.
